Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, available internet speeds up to 10 Gbps

The Moto Edge X30 will be launched on December 9 with this processor.

Availability of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Availability Timeline)
Qualcomm has announced that all Android phone makers can use their Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Brands like Motorola, Xiaomi, iQOO, Samsung, ZTE, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Black Shark, etc. will launch smartphones with this processor at the end of this month or early next year.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Specifications
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will see improvements in 8 areas – 5G connectivity, camera sensors, AI, gaming, audio, and security. It was built on a 4nm process, whereas the Snapdragon 8 was built based on a 5nm process. It is Qualcomm’s first chip to come with Armv9 architecture. The eight-core Kryo CPU has a Cortex-X2 prime core, three Cortex-A710 performance cores, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. Their clock speeds are 3.0 GHz, 2.5 GHz, and 1.6 GHz respectively. It did not say which Adreno GPU was used.
Qualcomm says its new chip will consume 20 percent improved performance and 25 percent (up to 30 percent) of electricity. It comes with a new imaging system, which has a 16-bit ISP. This system will offer an advanced dynamic range, color, speed. It will support 8K (8K) HDR video with the new Bokeh engine.
Connectivity man gets new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Snapdragon X65 modem. This is Qualcomm’s fourth-generation 5G modem. The company claims that the new processor will speed up to 10 Gbps. It will also support Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LED audio, digital car key, e-money wallet, i-SIM, etc.
For Artificial Intelligence, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes with a Seven Generation AI engine and Hexagon processor. It has a trust management engine for security. The new chip will also support 4K with a 144 Hz refresh rate, Quad HD display, LPDDR5 RAM, Quick Charge 5 technology.
